Friends of Bedrock Gardens’ mission is to preserve and promote Bedrock Gardens, an oasis of calm and beauty, as will as a nexus for horticulture and the arts. Bedrock Gardens uplifts the soul through art and beauty in the garden, and inspires others to care for the natural world. The garden brings to the Seacoast a unique environment to be enjoyed by all.
We are very active: we have Open Houses twice a month; a successful Fairy House Festival for three days in October; themed shows with many Open Houses; music at the second Open House of the month; separate concerts, talks, etc.; an active volunteer program (in 2016 we had 70 volunteers contributing over 1200 hours); 4000 visitors to the Gardens; 23 local businesses that contributed; active involvement with local schools; and more.
All of this is to ensure the transition of Bedrock Gardens, now a private garden, to a public garden, open to the community as a peaceful, educational, and stimulation oasis.
